Only a year, I did the same (sat around and didn't get picked) a couple months back but I think they excuse us for 6 years!!

6 years! damn I need to move. I've been summoned at least 5 times in the past 6 years. only got stuck on a trial once though.

I've only had jury duty once, and I sat in the assembly room and got hit on by some chick.  I kind of like jury duty.  |D

I can take time off of work, but then there is that whole problem of driving downtown Roll Eyes ewwww

Seriously though, It would be hard for me to miss work because I need to open up so early for the daycare.

Nobody else could fill in..... Thats about it, otherwise I would not mind doing jury duty.

I have been summoned once, got out of it because college students are excused from that sort of thing.

Not sure why I was excused, as it was the summer and I wasn't in school at that time, but I wasn't going to complain about it.

I've never been called in for jury duty, but to be fair I'm not even 19.

There have been 16+ murders in this city so far this year. There where 3or4 in a week.
I am going to get jury duty within a week of turning 18....
At least we broke last years record and we still hadnearly 2 months to go.

w00t for being the 17 most dangerous midsized city in the U.S.

What a crock of shit! After the riots of 2001 Cincinnati (the city) is only the 20th most dangerous city in the US?! I guess that will change after this record breaking season of homicides in the city of Cincinnati, which with more than a month to go was at 75. In contrast, we are the 163rd safest city in the US... out of 330. I'd love to see a crime happen in some of the neighborhoods of Cincinnati. Murder in Deerfield Township... wait a minute...

Well Cinci isn't a midsized city.
It is a large city.
A mecca if you will.

Well maybe not a mecca...

In anycase it has to compete with the likes of uhh.....

I wish i could easily compare the cities statistics but i don't know where i would find them and i have to sleep now...
Maybe this weekend i can figure it out.

EDIT
I was wron earlier. The news just say 19th most dangerous City and we have 18 murders.
Apparently we hired a PR company to make the cit look better too. Which is great seeing as the city is in the red and we have a board of people appointed from Boston to decide the cities finances. And teacher wages have been frozen and just got appealed and they could be entitled to as much as 35 mil, and poliece and firefighters and other city workers are all waiting for similair claims to finish getting disputed.

This city sucks. I'm moving to Chicopee.
