Blargh. I can manage a nine hour drive just fine. But I can't handle a five hour sleep followed by seven and a half hours standing up in a hot kitchen the next day. Four hours was work and the next three and a half were unpaid training for an NVQ course. I made a very nice lasagna for lunch but for the NVQ course we were making cornish pasties. The head chef was too busy doing the other two's work to pay any attention to me, so I fell right behind because I didn't know what I was supposed to be doing.
My pastry ended up dry, so it wouldn't roll properly. The head chef rolled it for me and did it too thick so it only made four pasties while the others were making twelve each. I eventually decided I couldn't be bothered and got changed to come home when she wandered off to talk to someone for quarter of an hour while I fell asleep on my feet.

On the plus side: I ran over two pigeons raping each other in the middle of the road on the way home.
