In the arcade and Genesis versions of the game, there is a level called "Chinatown Assault".
For the Super Nintendo version, the level name was changed to "Downtown Assault" and any references to Chinese people were removed (note the change of the restaurant name). Nintendo was well-known at this point in time for censoring games, and one might venture that they did this to avoid offending any Asian-Americans -- though the fact that a lot of the enemies in this level still wear "stereotypical" Chinese garb is still puzzling if this indeed was their intent. -source of this info
