That's nothing, here in Ohio (and many other areas in the US) it's not unheard of to have a 40 degree difference between one day and the next. Back in December for example we were wearing T-shirts outside one day and shoveling snow the next.

Add Minnesota to that list.

Windchills hit 50 below on the western prairie today. I see -5 with a -8 winchill right now in St. Paul.

I believe it hit something like 5°F today, but with a -10°F wind chill. All I know is that I'm loving the new coat I got for my birthday, I had to unzip my coat to cool off after walking a bit.
Tomorrow is supposed to be colder and even more snow.

You're getting the system that's rolling through here right now. I wouldn't be excited.

The snow melted and the sun is shining. Smiley

It's 4 °C / 34°F.

Question: what's the logic behind the Fahrenheit scale because I'm not seeing it. If the converter site I'm using is correct then water freezes at 32°F. Is there a reason for that?

The freezing point of water is 0°C in Celcius. It makes sense because it's easy to see when it'll snow/freeze and when not.
