I hate when developers don't add in the ability to customize options.  Games that don't have customizable control schemes, the ability to pause and save during cutscenes, or the ability to turn (annoying) voice acting off seem like things that would be quite easy to implement and make games much more user friendly.

People who claim to love a certain genre but ignore great ones despite knowing about it  in that genre because it's not a hyped AAA  budget mediocre game  from company X. They rather support hype than companies that put out great games but may not be as well known.

Not that I disagree but you might find this interesting. The Retro Gaming Roundup podcast this month had an editorial on Facebook games. Scott, one of the hosts who seems to be as retro as they get, makes a good argument in favor of at least one Fb game. I recommend the entire podcast but the editorial is the first part.

I could write a million of these:

-Mobs that drop inappropriate loot (animals dropping weapons, equipment or currency)
-Mobs that don't aggress each other when they should, or me when I'm standing right next to them
-Mobs spawning within my line of sight
-Handicapping as a means to set difficulty level (Sid Meier does this)
-Binding items to a character so they can't be reused by another
-Questing, I want to suffocate quests with sand from my sandbox (random encounters and simulation instead)
-NPCs that stand around 24/7, they never move or sleep
-Auction houses that magically ship your product across the world (simulate economy and logistics damn it!)
-Radars or maps showing where all the enemies are
-No nudity, the animals don't wear clothes, why do I have to?

One of the few games I bought my PS3 for was Heavy Rain and I love it!

You must really hate the world right now. Also, apparently, I personify everything you hate:

I'm a big supporter of the Windows Phone 7 platform in providing a competent competitor to the other phones, including having a decent line of Xbox LIVE-enabled games. I'm also a Software Engineer at EA, and in the past have worked to implement DLC and Achievements for some of our titles, as well as being somewhat of an achievement whore. I also mostly play FPS games.

...we're not all bad, you know?  Cry

There's one major pet peeve I have with most of the gaming community, as a whole:
Jumping on the bandwagon when it doesn't even affect you.

How many people complaining about Mass Effect 3's ending have actually played through all 3 games to have the ending affect them? How many have actually played ME3 period?

How about how many people complain about the nickle and diming about DLC? If it's such a problem, then why still spend the $10 on something you don't feel is worth it?

Someone smack some sense into the Entitlement Generation, please. Complaining and boycotting is fine, but sending a mixed message won't get anything accomplished.

Vote "Entitlement Generation" for next year's April Fools!

You're right though. I remember a while back there was a huge outcry by the PC gaming community because Call of Duty Modern Warfare (...2?) didn't include dedicated servers. Everyone was going to boycott the game. Then when the game came out, it was the #1 played game on Steam for like a month. Roll Eyes

My main gaming pet peeve is people who will boldly state, "XXXX is not a real videogame," simply for the reason they don't like the game/series/genre/platform.

Also I get easily annoyed by the en masse bandwagon-jumping that tends to happen after a gaming "journalist" either writes an editorial or spouts off on a podcast regarding a subject.  Remember how cool FFVII was, then how much it was overrated, then how horrible it was?
