Came across this on EB Games Australia's facebook page:

Preorders for a console that doesn't even have an official name yet.  This just makes my brain bleed. Has April Fools Day started earlier this year?

All the hype around Bloodborne really makes me want to go back and take another crack at Demon's Souls.

Picked up a promo disc for FFX|X-2 HD, and wow... Square Enix are trophy trolls:

BRONZEDodge 200 lightning bolts
BRONZEGet 0:00:00 on the Chocobo Race
SILVERWatch the "Eternal Calm" video

So the two hardest, most bitterly complained about Crests in the game are worth less than a 10min video found on the game's title screen. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

LEGO Stunt Rally developers used oranges to help them test... laugh

Quote
For the very first level of the campaign, we aimed to make it so easy that you could win by just holding the accelerator the entire race (with any car!). Obviously, that is the most boring level to test, so we had an orange do it. We placed an orange on the up cursor button on the keyboard and just waited for the result. The first level needed to pass "the orange test", which became a bit of a meme inside the team. I may have an image of the orange in question, I'll see if I can find it.  Smiley
Here is that image and two more: Linkety link

Star Ocean 5 has been announced for PS3 and PS4.

Developed by Tri-Ace and published by Square-Enix.

I have not yet played any Star Ocean games, but as someone who worships at the altar of Tri-Ace, I'm still super excited.

Star Ocean: The Last Hope (4) had the worst cast of characters in an RPG that I've so far played on my PS3. They were horrendous. The battle system is always fantastic, but I can't stand 4 for its cast. If the cast of characters moves away from awful moe bullcrap from 4 and back to the style of characters from 2 or 3 then Star Ocean 5 can be much better.

Not really.
Mortal Kombat X apparently has the ability for you to buy "the easy way out" it isn't something new and buying doesn't give you an edge or change gameplay.

It is lame but if some lazy bastard wants to spend 5 bucks to get 30 one button fatalities instead of doing the required 4-7 button combo what do i care? I lost already anyways.
If someone wants to spend 30$s to unlock everything in the Krypt instead of earning it while they complete the rest of the game again why should i care?

Bad microtransactions are the ones that are required for progress or give the user an obvious advantage that you can only get with additional money.

The article is the "EPIC FAIL" as they appear to not see the difference and/or are dying to get clicks/reads by complaining about the game that is being praised everywhere else.

WOW, me too.  Pretty funny stuff.  Although, it won't be so funny if we get a SW game with insane microtransactions, tons of bugs out of the chute, and a focus on mostly online multiplayer.

Going to Digital Press today for the first time in....I can't remember.

I've done a lot of bitching about Joe's prices both privately and publicly in the lead up to my visit there, but I rarely walk away empty handed, even if I'm just bargain binning it. I'm excited.
